Prepare for Ramadan

I was blessed over the winter to participate in the Tarbiyah 1 Program through AlMaghrib Institute. Through this program, I had the opportunity to interact with some amazing Sisters, and we were tasked with coming up with different projects to show what we have learned. The Sprout in Your Hand portion of this website is the result of my project. The following is something I was able to create from another Sister’s project.

She challenged us to prepare for Ramadan.

And so, I have created this check list as a way to make sure that I am prepared, and Insha Allah I hope you can find benefit in it as well.

How to Make Goals Like a Gardner

How to Make Goals Like a Gardner

The 6 Steps

  1. Powerful Intentions – don’t focus on the end result…focus on the seeds you want to plant for life.
  2. Understand Your Season in Life – don’t plant seeds that can’t grow in your current environment.
  3. Sharpen Your Focus – Name Achievement Goals and follow them with Process Goals. Think about how to get there.
  4. You Only Want What Allah Wants For You – understand that sometimes your plants will not grow, and that everything is at the Will of Allah.
  5. Seek Barakat – Make Istakarah and Dua for your goals. Shukran Allah when you make progress and give sadaqah from the benefits.
  6. Plant for the Long Term – gardens need constant tending so they can continue to flourish.

Example:

Achievement Goal: Memorize the Quran

Process Goals:

  1. Learn to read the Quran with fluency and Tajweed – QRC
  2. Spend 1 hour every day reading Quran with 12-15 minutes devoted to memorizing
  3. Keep a journal of progress
