Halaqah Week 1 – Introduction

As with any new undertaking, a proper introduction of what the intentions and goals of the Halaqah should be introduced.

For this Halaqah, it is suggested that each week contain the following elements

  • The beginning of each Halaqah will review a Dhikr from Fortress of The Muslim
  • A few notes on the basics of Islam should be presented as reminders
  • The class discussion/activity of the week
  • A game/Kahoot on material covered to encourage active participation and learning.

Marhaba

A general introduction of yourself and each lady. How you would like to proceed with each Halaqah, and what the general expectations should take place. Also, this is a great time to figure out how it is best to keep in contact with each Lady and if the group will have outings, or just meet at as specific time.

If there is time, start discussion from The Ideal Muslimah.

The Believing Woman is Alert

The first paragraph of chapter 1 of the book says:

One of the most prominent distinguishing features of the Muslim woman is her deep faith in Allah, Subhana wa Ta’ala (the Exalted), and her sincere conviction that whatever happens in this universe, and whatever fate befalls human beings, only happens through the will and decree of Allah; whatever befalls a person could not have been avoided, and whatever does not happen to a person could not have been made to happen. A person has no choice in this life but to strive towards the right path and to do good deeds – acts of worship and other acts – by whatever means one can, putting all her trust in Allah, Subhana wa Ta’ala, submitting to His will, and believing the she is always in need of Allah’s help and support.
